What equipment is needed for baseball conditioning and high school baseball?
Anybody know what gear I need to have for baseball conditiong and for high school baseball? What should I wear like basketball shorts and a tee-shirt. What size bat should I get. What Type of glove, I know it varies by position but what would be a standard glove for all positions before I get my position. What type of cleats do I need. Do I need to purchase a baseball helmet. I have my protective cup from Football so that’s taken care of. What kind of equipment bags and sunglasses if neccessary should I get. If you have any advice you’d like to tell me about conditioning or high school baseball I would appreciate it. Thanks for your answers, and I appreciate your time!!!
Go to Sports Authority, Dicks sporting Goods, Modells, even Walmart has them look in the Baseball Section
Hey, The things I got my sons are their cup (you’ve got that covered)
BB Pants if your made to slide you dont want to wear shorts, trust me
BB Belt
BB Socks – if you want the girls to think your hott
A Mitt to never forget – Just get a comfortable mitt with fingers. no fingers is a first baseman glove, with fingers can be for outfield and 3rd and 2nd the inches depend on that
A Line Shirts – to wear under to soak the sweat
Cleats – yes you could use your foot ball cleats
Baseball gloves for batting
Bat should be from your mid chest to your upper palm, your fingers should be able to go over the top and make sure it is an approved bat (bat can run yah $70 – $300) you want to get a medium bat not the most expensive not the cheesiest, because the bat isn’t going to make you a better batter unless your a better batter.
Shorts are fine as well and a tee as you indicated (just if your playing for the team you might have to have uniform. and if your required to slide.
BB Bag is important to keep all your things
BB Helmet – ringworm is contagious
Go to the Library and get the videos Fielding, Pitch and Hitting it is a great series with the comedian with “Everybody loves Raymond”
And GO OUTSIDE AND PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
I did get my boys a Batting cage but they still need to practice one on one skills and I take them to the park anad practice fielding. Batting cage at the local batting cage. I would just practice my Ar se off!!!!!!
Nothing is going to help you more than practice,
get a tee ball, the professionals still use tee stands and so do I.
