Schutt DNA Pro + 2026, youth or adult?
I’m shopping for a Football Helmet, and I’ve found one I’m considering buying. Its listed as a Schutt 2026 DNA Pro +, adult large. Problem is that the only info on the 2026 models I can find says that its a youth helmet.
Is there a 2026 adult model? And even if it is a youth model, could an adult safely wear it for competitive play?

I will answer your last question first…No, I would not wear a youth helmet if I’m playing adults. A youth helmet is made of ABS plastic and adult helmets are made of Polycarbonate. The ABS is a little softer and lighter so kids can wear them without becoming bobbleheads. Also, kids don’t hit near as hard as adults do so you def want to get an adult helmet.
As far as the Schutt DNA helmet I would advise that you look into the Riddell Revo Speed helmet before you waste your money on a piece of Schutt. The Riddell Revolution series helmets have concussion reduction technology built into them where as the DNA does not. The side impact protection offered by Revolution helmets is second to none.
