Mini Flash Drives: When Size Doesn’t Matter!
USB flash drives have been around for quite some time now, and have invariably caught up on the trend of getting a reduction in size with a boost in performance. Large, bulky flash drives are things of the past already, giving way to sleeker, and smaller mini flash drives. These drives are much smaller in size and take up about half the space taken by their previous generations.
The reduction in size often leads to loss of some functionality in other industries. However, it is not the same in case of mini flash drives. These drives have storage capacities that are at par with the larger counterparts, and competitive data transfer speeds. These, coupled with affordable price tags, make these drives highly sought after items for system administrators and on-the-move computer users alike.
A mini flash drive is about half the size of a regular flash drive, but sports the same kind of internal architecture. Additionally, the circuit boards that store the data are usually of better quality, since the data requires to be compacted within a much smaller physical space. The outer casing is usually even thicker than regular drives, in order to minimize the effect of physical impacts.
Mini flash drives, however, usually do not come with a covering for the USB connector, instead allowing the user to retract it within the shell when it is not being used. This system keeps a small portion of the top of the connector exposed to the elements at all times, and thus the drive needs to be protected from moisture. Owing to its tiny profile, such protection can be easily provided by the user. Besides, many mini flash drives ship with little, protective carry cases to facilitate such protection.
Mini USB flash drives often come in a variety of interesting shapes, making these quite attractive accessories as well. For instance, a crescent shaped flash drive will look great when worn on a platinum or gold chain. A tiny football shaped mini flash drive, on the other hand, can be the perfect addition to a key ring for sports enthusiasts. Special edition mini flash drives are also often released for promotional purposes. These have great value to collectors of souvenirs.
Mini flash drives usually come for quite affordable prices, apart from special edition drives. The robust architecture, easy portability, and reasonable price tags make these perfect accessories for system administrators and power users. Visit us at http://www.usbsmg.com

Is it worth buying an external drive for Readyboost?
My computer has 4GB RAM, and i’m considering buying a 4GB USB Flash Drive for £14 with raving reviews. I play Football Manager (which uses a healthy amount of memory) and i’m having to uninstall any game I install to stop my computer from being really slow. Had this laptop about 18 months. Is it worth it?
Ready boost wont fix your problem im afraid. Your RAM is capable of handling more than any game on the market to date.
As Football Manager isnt a game thats graphically orientated as such (more so database driven with the masses of player stats it processes) would help to know a little more about your system (processor + Operating system for example) Also what version of Football manager I know 2009 version will run quite happily on a Vista 32-bit laptop with 2Gb RAM using intel on board Graphics
