So, your school doesn’t provide these items or advice? I’d go with shoulder pads that are light yet durable so as not to weigh you down. Whats more important is a proper fitting helmet and neck protection (for hitting when you’re on defense) and a flak jacket or rib protector when you’re playing offense and will be on the receicving end of some jolts. A lot of times, its not about the equipment but more about your technique when tackling or being tackled. Be careful and good luck in the coming season.

Each year, you will hear about people filling out brackets in an effort to predict the winner of the 64 team tournament.

The NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament is always filled with great upsets. When watching some of the greatest shots in history for basketball, you always have to include some from the NCAA tournament. The tournament has even taken on names for several positions within the tournament. For example, once you get to the final 16 teams in the bracket, teams are considered ‘Sweet 16 Teams’. The final eight are ‘The Elite 8′. And the last 4 teams remaining are considered the ‘Final Four Teams’. The only difference when we grow up is that the games become more mature but retain their playfulness. Now Halloween is associated with terror and gore, but it provides equal opportunity to costumes that are non-frightening and creative.

- Upping the hemline. The more legs are showed off, the more sensual an outfit. It does not matter if it is a skirt or shorts as long as the hems end about mid-thigh and reveal a lot of leg.

- Increasing the bust size. A bigger bust normally means more sexual appeal so some padding in the costume or brassiere will be of use here. This will automatically deepen the cleavage so we do not have to lower the neckline as low to get an impressive effect.

- Shiny material. Sometimes, for additional effect, it may be a brilliant idea to use shiny material in these adult costumes. Materials like shiny PVC or leather are great options as they highlight the body curves and for some outfits, actually make them look better. Costumes like Catwoman, for instance, would only look sensual
when tailored in such material.

The Halloween sexy costumes are usually designed with women in mind, but the men are not altogether neglected. The male sexy adult costume shows off their muscular bodies and biceps – though the downside is that the paunch and the extra fat will be shown off too. Football Pads Question?

OK. I’m a starting Fullback for my Varsity High School football team and this is my first year playing, ever. I just wanted to know what kind of pads should I have(hip, thigh, etc.) either youth or adult. The equipment manager at my school handed me some youth ones but they just feel small especially the hip pads. Well, I’m 5′6 and 162 pounds, and waist size 32/33, I don’t know if that helps but should I have youth or adult pads?

I would say that the youth size should be sufficiant given your size. They may feel small but I think that the pads are going to feel weird to you one way or another as this is your first season. Give it time, you’ll get used to it. Good luck this season and props for getting the starting job your first season.

PS – don’t know if you know or not, but 162 lbs is kinda small for a high school varsity fullback…. you must be a beast on the field.

We know the recession has made for a really tough time for a lot of people. Let’s face it, with nearly 10% unemployment rampant in the United States and people still fearful for their jobs (not to mention those who have given up looking and the people who have had to actually move back home), this is no time to be spending a fortune to buy a professional Halloween costume. Instead, what you need are some ideas for inexpensive homemade adult Halloween costumes. So, here for your consideration are several ideas I’ve come up with over the years.

First off, for sports fans out there, you may very well have the makings of a basic costume already. Do you have a jersey from your favorite sports team and baseball cap from the same maybe? That’s a great start for a costume. If you’re into football, put on the jersey for your favorite team and dig out your old football helmet from high school. A bit of paint under the eyes and you’re good to go for the holiday.

For the ladies, try this interesting idea on for size – you can fashion a cape for yourself very easily by simply buying a piece of material. Go to a fabric store and ask to see the remnants. These are usually pieces that are left over and are too small for the store to sell for large projects, but you can often find pieces big enough for a cape. I used a piece of this kind of material to make a curtain and the way you make a cape is pretty much the same. Take your piece of some pretty material and buy a piece of solid material, either another remnant or splurge for something full blown.

Get a plain color that will match your remnant. This will be the lining of your inexpensive homemade adult Halloween costume (sorry, I have to mention that here). The plain colors are usually the cheapest. Now, use a glue gun to glue down the edges of the remnant to create your cape, but leave the top open. Next, get a piece of string or for something a bit fancier, ask the fabric store about ribbon or curtain ropes. Get a piece that would be the right size and then when you glue the top of the cape, simply place the string along the top, leaving yourself enough room so that the string or rope can slide through on either side.

Now, take the solid piece of material and glue it onto the back as a lining. Add in a cheap tiara and you could be a princess. Or just stick with the cape. Maybe buy a cheap walking stick at a thrift store. The possibilities are simply endless.

Good luck with your inexpensive homemade adult Halloween costume. Feel free to mix and match these ideas and don’t be afraid to look for other ideas as well.
